Since prehistoric times, fever has been associated with disease. In the 17th century, Galileo developed the first thermometers for physical experiments. When glass thermometers were sufficiently reduced in size at the end of the 19th century, various researchers began to use them to measure temperature on animals. It took 100 years for a fast predictive thermometer to be developed.

What is a normal body temperature?

A normal body temperature is around 37 ° C (98.6 ° F). Normal temperature varies by around 1 ° C during the day. Your temperature is usually lower in the morning and increases during the day. It reaches its peak in the late afternoon or evening.

Why measure body temperature?

Checking your body temperature allows you to see if a fever is present. A fever is usually caused by an infection. Fevers are uncomfortable, but are a sign that your body is fighting an infection. Several diseases are accompanied by characteristic changes in body temperature. Likewise, the progress of certain diseases can be monitored by measuring body temperature and the effectiveness of an initiated treatment can be evaluated by your doctor.

    How to use

    1) Press the "ON / OFF" button. The thermometer will go through a calibration cycle and when ready (after approximately 5 seconds) the device will beep and display a blinking blue LED and the ° C symbol.

    2) Take the device between 2 fingers and place it on the forehead.

    3) The device will beep when the measurement is done.

    4) If you leave the thermometer against your forehead, it will repeat a measurement every 5 seconds.

    5) The LED will flash red if fever is detected and green for normal temperature.

    6) The device will automatically turn off after 30 seconds.
